“If God forgives us and we do not forgive ourselves, we make ourselves greater than God.”  Edwin Louis Cole

The inability to forgive ourselves for sinful ideas, attitudes and actions greatly impacts many people.  This inability, commonly known as “guilt” can dominate an individual’s life causing self-loathing, depression, withdrawal and in some cases even illness and death. Guilt is truly a heavy burden for anyone to bear! This is

especially true for the young.  Children may even feel guilty for things they did not do or that they have any ability to control.  This terrible burden often prevents them from living the peaceful and abundant God wants us to have. Therefore, we must always remind the young that when Jesus died on the cross, he took on himself the guilt of all those who believe in him and are willing to confess Him as savior! How do I know this is true?  Because the Bible tells me so!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
