Gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation are not characteristics of the natural man.   I never recall one of my babies saying thank you for feeding them during the middle of the night or for changing a disgusting diaper! Gratitude is a kingdom value that must be taught and demonstrated repeatedly if it is to be cultivated in young people. 

Some may call gratitude having the “glass full” attitude or being as my children call me the “eternal optimist”! However, always looking for the presence of God brings light to every situation and encounter. Also, an attitude of gratitude is self-perpetuating: the more we practice it more natural it becomes.  You can never say “what is the magi word” too often!
