“Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:20
Throughout scripture we are warned or we are admonished to look at the results of actions, beliefs and attitudes of individuals which are often described as “fruits”. Teaching children to look for the fruits of people’s actions, beliefs and attitudes is truly an observational life skill that will do them in good stead when making critical decisions of their own. Unfortunately when they do draw conclusions about someone as a result of this type of observation, they may be accused of being judgmental if the conclusions do not reflect the individual in a positive light. However, Christ’s analogy using fruits is amazingly simple and one even a child can understand; a fig tree cannot produce apples! They will know the children of God by their actions, beliefs and attitudes, as will they!
